Edmond Engelbrecht

CG Supervisor

Edmond Engelbrecht is a CG supervisor at Image Engine with experience in visual effects since the early 2000s, working across feature film, television, and commercial projects in both Australia and Canada. With a strong background in lighting, look development, and pipeline development, he brings a technical and problem-solving approach to delivering complex visual effects.

At Image Engine, where he has been since 2011, Edmond has contributed to a wide range of productions including The Old Guard 2, The Mandalorian seasons 1–3, The Book of Boba Fett, which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Skeleton Crew, Snowpiercer season 2, The Twilight Zone season 2, Bloodshot, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Out of the Cradle, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Kin, The Meg, Lost in Space, The X-Files, Power Rangers, Game of Thrones season 6, and more. Over his time at the studio, he has progressed from senior lighting TD to CG lead and CG supervisor, while also developing workflows and tools to support cross-studio collaboration and efficient production pipelines.

Prior to joining Image Engine, Edmond worked at Digital Domain, contributing to Tron: Legacy as a lighting TD, where he developed pipeline and lighting tools while handling complex sequence setup and look development. Earlier in his career, he worked at Animal Logic on 300 as a sequence TD and joined the lighting team on Happy Feet. He also contributed to The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian as a previs TD, developing tools to improve workflow efficiency, and began his career as a freelance CG generalist in Perth, Australia, working across film, television, commercials, and music videos.

Edmond holds a Bachelor of Multimedia, with studies spanning computer science, computer graphics, and filmmaking. In addition to his production work, he has taught visual effects, animation, and digital marketing at the Western Australia School of Art and Design and Murdoch University.
