Jeremy Mesana is an animation expert, with a great deal of experience that stretches across multiple studios and some of the biggest films there are.
Jeremy grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Vancouver in his early twenties to attend animation school. Upon graduating he landed a job at Rainmaker Entertainment – known in 1998 as Mainframe Entertainment. While working at Mainframe Jeremy gained a great deal of animation experience, working on full-CG episodic television series such as Transformers, Beast Wars, Action Man, Weird-Oh’s, and Reboot.
Jeremy spent four years honing his skills at Mainframe before moving over into the world of video games, where he continued to strengthen his technical proficiencies while tackling the new challenges posed by a different industry.
In 2006 Jeremy moved to Sydney, Australia to take on the role of Animation Technical Director at Animal Logic, where Happy Feet became his first-ever feature film project.
A year later Jeremy moved back to Vancouver to join Image Engine’s newly established film department. He worked on several jobs before becoming the animation lead on Neill Blomkamp’s feature debut, District 9. During this time Jeremy wrote a large amount of the code for Image Engine’s animation toolset.
Jeremy later left Image Engine to work at MPC, Digital Domain and Sony Pictures Imageworks. During this time he animated a number of high-profile films, including Sucker Punch, Man of Steel, Jack the Giant Slayer, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Jeremy then returned once more to Image Engine to act as animation lead on Chappie, following which he took on the role of animation supervisor on Jurassic World.
Jeremy has recently contributed to Dune: Prophecy, Halo season 2, Willow, Moon Knight, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, The Mandalorian, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Independence Day: Resurgence, Logan, and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
