Celebrating VFX Magic at the 21st Annual VES Awards
Insights
Surrounded by the best and brightest in the industry, Image Engine had a blast celebrating the VES Awards 2023. Cheers to a fantastic evening!
What a fantastic evening with the VFX industry! A few of our crew members flew out to sunny Los Angeles to attend the 21st annual Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards on February 15, 2023. Image Engine was nominated for ‘Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature’ for our 1920s Berlin destruction sequence in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
The film was also nominated in the ‘Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature’ category for the overall VFX work on the film. We’re grateful to our clients at Warner Bros for their endless support and trust, especially to Production VFX Supervisor Christian Mänz and Production VFX Producer Olly Young, who we’ve been fortunate enough to work with for all three Fantastic Beasts movies.
Although we didn’t come home with the award, we’re still stoked about the VFX magic our crew created. It was also a chance for us to hang out with our global family, including Drew Jones, Devon Irete-Canales, Graham Peddie, and Justine Rosette-Nelligan from Cinesite; Sophie Aktas and Simone Kraus from Trixter; and Kristijan Danilovski from FX3X.
It was a fantastic night celebrating the remarkable artistry of the visual effects industry. A big congratulations to all of the winners and nominees! For the list of winners, visit the VES website.
We can’t wait to see what inspiring and innovative VFX comes up this year!
