Stargate Universe
Image Engine’s significant contributions to the Stargate franchise date back to 1997, with a remarkable portfolio of visual effects spanning over 70 episodes.
For the SGU Stargate Universe series, Image Engine created visual effects in four episodes: “Darkness,” “Light,” “Space,” and “Pain.”
Initially tasked with designing the spacecraft and environments, our involvement expanded to create a distinctive alien character featuring fleshy, translucent, blue skin. In “Darkness,” Image Engine created a gas giant in the “Darkness” episode and the sun in “Light.“
Our dedication to delivering high-quality visuals for television earned us a Primetime Emmy® nomination and a LEO nomination for the episode “Space,” in which an alien craft attacks the team of soldiers and scientists aboard the Destiny.
