Vancouver-based visual effects studio expands talent base

Academy Award-nominated visual effects studio Image Engine has appointed a new visual effects supervisor to its Vancouver-based headquarters: Christian Irles.
The new appointment bring a wealth of experience to the team. This includes producing stunning visual effects work at MPC and Image Engine’s partner company, Cinesite, on projects such as Mary Poppins Returns and Assassin’s Creed.
Christian’s leadership experience will greatly reinforce Image Engine’s existing skill set and technical proficiency. Their appointment enhances the continued growth and reputation of Image Engine as a world-class visual effects studio capable of delivering multiple projects across the globe, augmented by partner company Cinesite in Montreal and London.

Christian Irles
Christian Irles is a visual effects supervisor with over 15 years’ experience in the visual effects industry. He joins Image Engine from partner company Cinesite, where he completed work on the blockbuster adaptation of the Assassin’s Creed video game and the eagerly awaited upcoming Mary Poppins Returns. Previously, Christian worked for MPC in their London, Vancouver and Montreal studios, delivering work on projects such as The Golden Compass, Poseidon and Into the Woods. Christian’s creative leadership and his eye for detail elevates every project he supervises, a talent which he will bring to bear on a slate of upcoming Image Engine engagements.
Image Engine is currently working on a slate of new projects, including Warner Bros’ Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald; Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom; and Legendary Pictures’ Skyscraper. Recent projects include Game of Thrones, Lost in Space and Thor: Ragnarok. Irles and Grosshans will be based at Image Engine’s Vancouver headquarters.
