Compositing Supervisor

With a career spanning over two decades, Janeen Elliott stands as a seasoned professional in the realm of visual effects. Currently serving as a compositing supervisor at Image Engine, Janeen’s journey started with a passion for creativity, studying design and drawing at York University and animation at Seneca College.

Her career kicked off at Stargate Studios in Toronto, where she began as an animator. With talent and determination, Janeen transitioned into compositing and started working at GVFX, where she received an Emmy nomination for her work on Haven, a miniseries for TV.

Afterwards, Janeen moved to the San Francisco Bay area, contributing her expertise to iconic projects like the Matrix sequels at ESC Entertainment, and Star Wars: Episode III at ILM. While at ILM, Janeen received a VES Award nomination for her work on the feature film, Poseidon. Driven by a love for challenges, Janeen embraced new platforms like Shake and Nuke, continually adapting to the evolving visual effects landscape. 

Her journey led her to Vancouver, where she found her creative home at Image Engine since 2007. Here, she has earned a VES Award nomination for Elysium and won outstanding compositing for District 9. She has contributed to many Image Engine projects such as Kraven the Hunter, Halo: Season 2, The School for Good and Evil, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, The Mandalorian, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, Jurassic World, Chappie and many more. 

Beyond her strong creative eye and technical abilities, Janeen is skilled at deciphering client needs, creating efficient processes and creating imagery that resonates with audiences. Embracing her role as a supervisor, Janeen finds fulfilment in guiding her team and overcoming challenges.
