Originally from the UK, Ryan Woodward brings 12 years of experience in the visual effects industry to his role as CG supervisor at Image Engine.
Ryan attended De Montfort University in Leicester, England, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Multimedia Computing. After graduating, Ryan enrolled in a course at Escape Studios where he augmented his visual effects abilities.
Eager to start his visual effects career, Ryan joined Double Negative London where he ended up working for a cumulative of 12 years. Starting as a matchmove artist, Ryan’s role broadened to include matchmove supervisor, lighting technical director, texture artist, and generalist TD. Some of his career highlights include working on Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel, Godzilla, and more.
In 2015, Ryan transferred offices to work at Double Negative in Vancouver as a sequence supervisor before taking on the role of asset supervisor for around four years. Ryan oversaw large projects and teams for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Pacific Rim: Uprising, among others.
Ryan Woodward also worked at DNEG before spotting an opportunity to join Image Engine as a CG supervisor in 2022. In this role, Ryan is essential for many aspects of our projects, including establishing the most effective methodologies to produce the client’s vision, technical support, and ensuring a smooth final delivery of high-quality digital effects to our clients.
Outside of work, Ryan loves to mountain bike and rock climb in the summer. In the winter, you’ll find him heading up to one of Vancouver’s stunning mountains with his snowboard.
