Kim Nielsen is the Head of CFX at Image Engine, bringing a diverse background, technical skills, and his commitment to team success to our studio.
After studying at Truemax Academy in Scandinavia, Kim began his internship at Nordisk Film, where he learned rigging and pipeline support. Then he embarked on a freelance career, working with high-profile clients such as Pandora, Samsung, and Copenhagen Fur. This led to a position as a CG Generalist at Duckling A/S.
Seeking to deepen his expertise, Kim attended Vancouver Film School and subsequently transitioned into the gaming industry with Hellbent Games. After two years in gaming, Kim’s interest in VFX led him to roles at MPC and Digital Domain, where he spent nine years honing his craft on projects such as Madam Web, Secret Invasion, She-Hulk, Free Guy, Terminator: Dark Fate, Avengers: Infinity War, Ready Player One, Spider-man: Homecoming, and more.
As the Head of CFX at Image Engine, Kim ensures his team has the support and resources needed to achieve the goals of various productions. His role involves a blend of technical skills and effective communication to facilitate seamless workflows and the evolution of our CFX department.
Outside of his professional life, Kim enjoys painting miniatures, particularly from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, showcasing his creativity and attention to detail.
