Bringing more than 15 years of experience in the industry, Francesc Izquierdo is the Crowd Supervisor at Image Engine, where he ensures crowd work is delivered on time and with the best quality possible.
Francesc attended school in Barcelona, Spain but is mainly self-taught in CG and VFX. His first industry job was at MPC London in 2007 as a Crowd TD. Then he relocated to MPC Vancouver from 2013-2019. From there, Francesc spent over a year at Animal Logic as a Lead Crowd TD.
Major productions Francesc worked on include Robin Hood directed by Ridley Scott, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, John Carter, World War Z, Maleficent, The Mummy, Aquaman, and more. One of his career highlights includes working on John Carter, where he had a blast and got the chance to work closely with Andrew Stanton.
To continue growing professionally, Francesc was looking for a new opportunity and joined Image Engine as the Lead Crowd TD.
In October 2022, Francesc was promoted to Crowd Supervisor, where he is responsible for project-wide management of crowd work, leading teams of artists and leads whilst coordinating with producers, department supervisors, clients, pipeline and R&D teams. Aside from ensuring high-quality crowd work is being delivered on time and within the constraints of the shows, Francesc is also involved with pipeline development for the department, crowd show biddings, crowd character setups, shot crowd simulations, writing documentation, and more.
At Image Engine, Francesc has contributed to projects such as The Mandalorian season 3, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Moon Knight.
In his free time, Francesc enjoys photography and travelling the world with his camera.
