Daniel Cox

Head of Art

As head of art at Image Engine, Daniel Cox brings over 20 years of experience delivering creative visual solutions across feature film and episodic productions. A VES Award nominee for his concept art on The Gorge, he has a strong foundation in concept design, art direction, and visual storytelling, working closely with filmmakers and visual effects teams to shape the look and feel of complex worlds and characters.

At Image Engine, Daniel has contributed to projects including Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, The Abandons, The Old Guard 2, Murderbot, The Gorge, Dune: Prophecy, Kraven the Hunter, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Avatar: The Last Airbender, 3 Body Problem, and Foundation season 2. Since joining as a VFX concept artist in 2023 and stepping into the role of head of art in 2026, he has played a key role in guiding the studio’s visual development and supporting cohesive creative direction across productions.

Previously, Daniel held roles as a VFX art director and concept artist at leading studios including Sony Pictures Imageworks, Rising Sun Pictures, and Weta Digital. His credits include Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Meg, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Marvels, and more.

Earlier in his career, Daniel worked extensively as a freelance concept illustrator and storyboard artist, building a broad foundation across both pre-production and visual effects. He holds a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication from the University of Technology Sydney.
