With over 12 years of experience in matchmove and layout, Buhas M Pallathputhampully joined Image Engine as Head of Matchmove bringing strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and flexibility to toggle smoothly between shows of any level.
Buhas completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Bangalore University in 2008 and Certification in Visual Effects from Frameboxx, Bangalore in 2009. After graduation, he started his career at Paprikaas Animation Studios as an a tracking artist intern.
In the following five years, Buhas worked at Moving Picture Company (MPC), Bangalore in a variety of roles with increasing levels of responsibility including matchmove rotoanim lead. In this role, Buhas led a sizable team taking briefs from CG/VFX supervisors across multiple sites, worked with external vendors, and trained interns at MPC Academy. Major features that Buhas worked on during this period include The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay – Part 1, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, World War Z, Man of Steel, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
In the next chapter of his career, Buhas relocated to Beijing and joined Base FX as a layout lead on different shows across multiple sites delivering superior matchmove and complex layouts. Working closely with directors and VFX supervisors to bring their visions to life, Buhas worked on projects such as Monster Hunt 2, The Wandering Earth, The Great Wall, and Captain America: Civil War.
Afterward, Buhas seized the opportunity to move to Vancouver in late 2018 to join DNEG as a matchmove supervisor and worked on big-budget feature films such as Dune, The Matrix Resurrections, Wonder Woman 1984, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Presently at Image Engine, Buhas M Pallathputhampully has contributed to The School for Good and Evil, Moon Knight, Snowpiercer, Hawkeye, and Swan Song among other titles where his wealth of experience has brought outstanding results.
