With over two decades of experience in visual effects, Arek Komorowski brings deep technical expertise and artistic precision to his role as visual effects supervisor at Image Engine. His career spans many feature films and episodic projects, bringing deep technical knowledge, artistic sensibility, and proven leadership to high-end visual effects productions.
Arek has held visual effects supervisor roles at Framestore, Pixomondo, and Scanline, leading teams on projects including Deadpool & Wolverine, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Pale Blue Eye, Moonfall, and Terminator: Dark Fate.
Prior to that, he served as DFX and compositing supervisor at Method Studios and MPC Vancouver, where he contributed to major titles such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, The Maze Runner, 300: Rise of an Empire, The Lone Ranger, and more.
Before moving into compositing, Arek began his career in paint and roto at Weta Digital, MPC London, Cinesite, and Shotfix. During this time, he contributed to films such as King Kong, Batman Begins, Clash of the Titans, and several Harry Potter titles. This hands-on foundation gave him a deep understanding of image crafting and pipeline workflows, paving the way for his progression into supervision roles.
Arek holds a master’s degree in computer engineering from the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Poland. He has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2023 and the Visual Effects Society since 2019.
