Matt Kowaliszyn (pronounced ‘Ko-Va-LIsh-In’ like ‘demolition’) is an animation supervisor at Image Engine, where he has been leading animation since 2021. Known for his passion for character performance and creature animation, Matt combines technical expertise with a collaborative leadership style to guide teams in delivering high-quality, cinematic animation.
At Image Engine, Matt has supervised animation on projects including The Mandalorian & Grogu, Keeper, The Old Guard 2, Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian season 3, and The Book of Boba Fett, which won an Emmy Award for outstanding visual effects. His work on these high-profile productions highlights his skill in bringing complex characters and creatures to life.
Prior to joining Image Engine, Matt worked as animation lead and supervisor at Method Studios and MPC, contributing to films including Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Ford v Ferrari, The Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, The Mummy, and Independence Day: Resurgence. Earlier in his career, he began at Phoenix Animation in Toronto, working on All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 and has also worked on projects such as Godzilla (2014), Edge of Tomorrow, The Christmas Chronicles, Monster Trucks, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, and Seventh Son.
