Shane Davidson started his career on the other side of the camera making appearances in several commercials and feature films, as well as doing voice-over work for radio and television.
In 1998 Shane joined the fledgling Winnipeg based visual effects company Frantic Films as one of its original employees. What was initially supposed to be a summer job between college years turned into a 20+ year visual effects career. In 2001 Shane became one of 3 artists to move West to start up the Frantic Films Vancouver location. The initial years at Frantic Vancouver saw Shane filling several roles from compositing, client relations, on-set supervision, data wrangling, previsualization, and editing. During his time at Frantic, he contributed to over 60 feature films and television series as well as multiple commercials and video games. Features included Swordfish, X2: X-Men United, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Paycheck, Stay, Cursed, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Forbidden Kingdom, Dragonball: Evolution, Superman Returns, and many, many more before Frantic Films was acquired by the Prime Focus Group.
Shane continued with Prime Focus where he worked as a compositing supervisor on The A-Team, Final Destination 5 as well as providing compositing support on Tron Legacy, Avatar, The Big Year and many others before joining Digital Domain Vancouver in 2011 where he worked as a compositing supervisor on The Watch as well as Maleficent.
In 2013 Shane joined the Image Engine crew as compositing supervisor on Chappie. Additional compositing supervision roles at Image Engine include The Last Witch Hunter, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Detroit, Thor: Ragnarok and The Mandalorian.
In his free time, Shane can be found skiing, camping, and motorcycling.
