Visual Effects Society (VES) Award winner Diego Guerrero brings an excellent understanding of the CG pipeline and sound leadership abilities to his role as CG Supervisor at Image Engine.
After receiving his Associate Diploma of Architectural Drafting from Granville TAFE in Sydney, Australia, Diego got his start in visual effects in 1996 as a 3D Generalist at Garner MacLennan Design, also known as GMD. During the next nine years with the studio, Diego was involved in many facets of CG development, including model builds, texturing, shading, lighting, character animation and compositing for broadcast work, Cinema theatre idents, the first Bananas in Pyjamas interactive CD-ROM, and season one of Farscape – the sci-fi TV series.
Diego then joined Animal Logic, Sydney to lend his skills on Happy Feet as Sequence Lighting TD before moving to London to join MPC in 2006. During the next thirteen years at MPC London and Vancouver, Diego contributed to many blockbuster films, some of which include, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, Prometheus, Maleficent, Guardians of the Galaxy, Justice League, The Jungle Book, and Aquaman, along with the motion ride for Universal Studios back-lot tour Fast & Furious: Supercharged, for which he won a VES Award.
In 2020, Diego joined Zoic Studios in Vancouver to work on the television series The Right Stuff and Superman and Lois before joining Image Engine in 2021 as CG Supervisor.
Diego excels at photoreal character lighting and development. In his role, he is responsible for many aspects of our projects, including technical setups on a show, that different departments have what they require to complete their tasks, and ultimately ensuring the final shot production is of the highest quality.
